Advanced Health MOTs

The Advanced Health MOT offers more detailed health information when compared to the Basic MOT package. You will receive every aspect including body measurements and cardiovascular checks, and you will also have a complete consultation with a GP. This means not only will you receive a wide variety of blood readings, but you will also have a professional clinical assessment which gives you a more individualised evaluation of your health state.

This package is best suited for males and females aged between 18 and 79, who would like a more thorough examination of their current health state, get an early indicator of risks, and receive medical recommendations – all in a single consultation.

  • Vital Blood & Non-Blood Checks
  • For males and females
  • Suitable for ages 18-79

What’s in this health check?

Your Health Assessment includes:

  • A detailed medical and lifestyle questionnaire: This will tell us about your lifestyle, family and medical history, and general health background.
  • Height, Weight and Body Mass Index (BMl): This is a basic indication of your body composition.
  • Blood pressure, pulse and oxygen saturation: Assessment of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
  • Lung Function Peak Flow: A measure of the flow of air from the lungs to detect possible limitations to your breathing.
  • Your Cardiovascular Risk Score: A composite of your health data including BMI, cholesterol and blood pressure from the health assessment to assess your risk of future cardiovascular events.
  • Full Consultation and Examination with GP: A comprehensive medical examination with a private GP, who will look at your symptoms, lifestyle and physical wellbeing along with your test results.

Blood Tests include (33 tests):

  • Full Blood Count (FBC), ESR: Looking at your red and white blood cells, haemoglobin, platelet counts and inflammatory markers
  • Urea and Electrolytes: Potassium, sodium, bicarbonate, chloride, creatinine, urea, eGFR to assess kidney function.
  • Liver Function Tests: Alkaline phosphatase, bilirubin, ALT, AST, total protein, Gamma GT, globulin, albumin to evaluate liver function.
  • Bone Markers: Phosphate, calcium, magnesium, uric acid to assess bone and joint function.
  • Glucose and HbA1c: If you are curious about your current blood sugar, look at glucose; and if you want to check your risk for diabetes in the long term and want to monitor if there are issues, consider looking at HbA1c.
  • Cholesterol Profile: HDL, LDL (calculated), non-HDL cholesterol, total cholesterol and triglycerides are all important variables for an assessment of cardiovascular risk.
  • Iron and Ferritin (including TIBC): Important for checking levels of iron and body stores to rule out or investigate anaemia or iron overload.
  • Thyroid Function: Free T4 and TSH are direct measures of thyroid balance and regulation of metabolism.

What occurs at a health check?

  • 1. Book your health check

Pick the package of your choice, schedule a time and place that suits you.

  • 2. Attend your appointment

You will be seen by a trained Health Assessment Specialist who will do non-blood tests and a GP who will perform the full consultation and examination. You will also have a quick, non-painful blood test taken.

  • 3. Processing your results

All blood samples and non-blood test data are processed by UKAS accredited laboratories. Critical actionable results are flagged immediately and all the other results are clearly explained by our GP.

  • 4. Receive your results report

Results are returned quickly, usually within a couple of days. Your results will have each test listed, explained in plain English, and there will be flags for further attention next to green, amber or red flags – giving you an indication of your health and how to improve.
